Martin and Associates is a full-service valuation and consulting firm. Appraisal assignments include a variety of commercial and residential properties including office buildings, shopping centers, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, hotels, historic properties, restaurants, service stations, theaters, golf courses, resort developments, multifamily and single-family housing, retirement and life care centers, hospitals and convalescent homes. The firm also has experience with large tracts of vacant residential and agricultural land. Consulting engagements have included zoning, condemnation, facilities planning, market feasibility, and development planning.

Robert S. Martin, principal in the firm, currently holds the MAI, SREA, and CRE professional designations. He is the author and teacher of several seminars and courses sponsored by the Appraisal Institute primarily covering the valuation of income properties. In addition, he has published several articles in professional trade journals concerning the use of computer-assisted valuation techniques. He received his degree in Economics from Duke University and Graduate Degree in Business form Emory University. he is the Past President of the Piedmont Chapter of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers.

In addition, Mr. Martin is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of ValuSoft, Inc., a company which creates and distributes real estate software. Programs he has developed include DCFAST, DVM, ComBase, Realhelp, RealVal2, and VALUCOM. These programs are now in use in all 50 states and several foreign countries.
